How to Enter/Fees & Forms Fee is $295/entry, payable to Gold Nugget Awards. Complete an entry application form for each entry. Download electronically at www.goldnuggetawards.com. Type in requested information, and keep a copy of each application. You may submit one check for total fees; Gold Nugget Headquarters will send you official entry numbers which you must use for your submittal(s). Send all forms and materials to: Gold Nugget Awards NEW FOR 2008 - DIGITAL Identification of Materials— Except for the entry application, company or project names anywhere in, or on, the entry materials is forbidden, and will result in elimination from the competition. Identify your CD’s with the serial and category number supplied by Gold Nugget. Project Information Form–ALL ENTRIES — download electronic file. Supply all information requested for your category. DO NOT exceed 200 words, or reduce type or add pages. Site Plan Drawings–ALL ENTRIES—Drawings will vary by category; refer to category details section. Provide as JPEG Image saved to output an image with a resolution of 1800 pixels wide x 1200 pixels high at 300dpi. Save all images as a JPEG file at highest quality. Please name files with Serial # Image description (e.g. 1241siteplan.jpg). ALSO PROVIDE 10 - 8 1/2¨ x 11¨ or 11¨ x 17¨ PRINTED COPIES FOR JUDGING. Floor Plan(s)–ALL ENTRIES EXCEPT PLANNING—include total square footage excluding garages or porches, and room dimensions or approximate scale. Black and white or color OK. Provide as JPEG Image saved to output an image with a resolution of 1800 pixels wide x 1200 pixels high at 300dpi. Save all images as a JPEG file at highest quality. Please name files with Serial # Image description (e.g. 1241floorplan.jpg). ALSO PROVIDE 10 PRINTED COPIES FOR JUDGING Photography - ALL ENTRIES—We recommend professional architectural photography. Check specific category requirements below for minimum and maximum photos required. Note—Composites/multiple images on an individual page are acceptable and maybe used to show architectural or design details. CD Disk Requirements —ALL ENTRIES — Submit one CD per entry that contains required images in digital format. Images should be saved to output an image with a resolution of 1800 pixels wide x 1200 pixels high at 300dpi. Save all images as a JPEG file at highest quality. Please name files with Serial # Image description (e.g. 1241 frontelevation.jpg). Plans: Please include clean JPEG files of floor plans and site plan. Density Definitions
The following supplements general requirements for categories shown. Please consult the Gold Nugget Awards Staff for situations these guidelines do not cover. COMMERCIAL/RETAIL Categories 1–6— Project Information Form, Site Plan and Floor Plan. Submit at least six (6) photo views. Include at least three exteriors and at least one interior; additional images recommended. RENOVATED/REHAB Categories 6, 10, 11 & 12 — Project Information Form, Site Plan and Floor Plan. For renovations and remodels, include at least one “before” view, with a maximum of 4 “befores” and 6 to 8 “afters”. Include at least three exteriors and at least one interior; additional images recommended. Before and after photos absolutely necessary and must be identified as “before” and “after”. Categories 7, 8, 9 — Custom Homes - Project Information Form, Site Plan and Floor Plan. Submit at least 6 views. Include a front and rear elevation, or rear/slide elevation. Include at least 4 interiors, additional images are recommended. Your site plan for these categories can be for a single home (“footprint”), or part or all of the project site, or both. At least one drawing must show the home on its lot, with lot dimensions shown. MIXED USE Categories 14 & 15— Affordable Housing. Project Information Form, Affordability Form, Site Plan and Floor Plan. Using affordability form available online, supply clear proof of affordability. At least 20% of the units in your project must be deemed affordable by a recognized authority: NAHB, HUD, local governments are your best sources; the Internet can help with your research. Submit at least 6 views, with at least 3 exteriors and at least 3 images of your choice; additional images are recommended. Affordability form should be submitted as hard copy along with Project Information Form and Entry Application. MULTI-FAMILY Categories 14-20,36-39, 45, 53, 54 PROJECTS— Project Information Form, Site Plan and Floor Plan. Submit at least 6 views. Show at least 4 exteriors, including front and rear elevation, or rear/slide. Include at least 2 interiors. We recommend additional images showing overall view of the community and/or special architectural or planning features. Site plan should show overall site or typical cluster, with streets, alleys and commons. Data should include net density, number of units and number of building for total project. Submit one floor plan for each model or plan, or a set of the most representative models/plans. Include total square footage excluding garages and porches, and room dimensions or approximate scale. You should submit one to two building plans to illustrate methods of attachment, garage access, etc. Categories 22-25 + 47, 48—PLANNING - Project Information Form and Site Plan. Do not submit floor plans. Submit illustrations and photos that address community, neighborhood character, environmental issues, circulation, land uses, topography, innovative solutions, etc. Entry monuments, street scenes, rec areas, green belts, open space and aerial/bird’s eye views can all be helpful. Indicate product types and densities. For finished projects, submit up to 6 photographic views. On-the-Boards entries must include a letter or receipt from local governmental agency that formalizes project approval. Also supply one photograph of the actual site; other views may be photographs of sketches or models of major community features and various product types. Convert hectares/meters to acres. Categories 26-35— Detached Production Housing - Project Information Form, Site Plan and Floor Plan. Submit at least 6 views. Include a front and rear elevation, or rear/slide elevation. Include at least 4 interiors, additional images recommended. Your site plan for these categories can be for a single home (“footprint”), or part or all of the project site, or both. At least one drawing must show a typical home on a typical lot, with lot dimensions shown. Categories 43A— California Green Builder - Submit Project Information Form , CAGreen Builder Form,Site Plan, Floor Plan(s) Submit at least 6 photos or a maximum of 8 photos of community. www.cagreenbuilding.com for more info Submit a site plan, and at least 6 photos, with at least 4 exterior views that emphasize community character, and at least 2 interiors. Include one set of drawings/floorplans for the representative model(s). Any other exhibits that will explain or demonstrate the projects green building program. Place 2 color prints of the front elevation (one for display gallery) in one sleeve. Category 44 —Community Spirit. Project Information Form, Site Plan, and Floor Plan. Submit at least six (6) photo views. Include at least three exteriors and at least one interior; additional images recommended. Categories 45-49- International Awards — Project Information Form, Site Plan, and Floor Plan(s). Submit at least 6 views. Show at least 4 exteriors, including front and rear elevation, or rear/slide. Include at least 2 interiors. We recommend additional images showing overall view of the community and/or special architectural or planning features. Site plan should show overall site or typical cluster, with streets, alleys and commons. Data should include net density, number of units and number of building for total project. Submit one floor plan for each model or plan, or a set of the most representative models/plans. Include total square footage excluding garages and porches, and room dimensions or approximate scale. For attached projects, submit one to two building plans to illustrate methods of attachment, garage access, etc. Categories 50-55- Project/Community of the Year — Project Information Form, Site Plan, and Floor Plan(s). Site plan should show overall site or typical cluster, with streets, alleys and commons. Data should include net density, number of units and number of building for total project. For attached projects, submit one to two building plans to illustrate methods of attachment, garage access, etc. PROJECTS OF THE YEAR & SPECIAL AWARDS Commercial Project of the Year - No additional entry fee or materials are required. Winner is selected from the Grand Awards presented in categories 1-6 International Project of the Year - No additional entry fee or materials are required. Residential Community of the Year –to be eligible, you must also have entered: Masterplan Community of the Year - To be eligible, you must have entered at least one SFD product in categories 26-35 or attached product in categories 36-39. You must also have entered your community in Category 23, Community Site Plan. Home of the Year - To be eligible, you must also have entered at least one individual plan of your project in Categories #26-35. No additional entry fee is required. Winner is selected from the Grand Awards presented in categories 26-35. Judges Special Awards - Awarded at judges’ discretion, these awards honor extraordinary and unusual projects from any category. No additional entry fee.
